The famous penang ferry
The fame Penang ferry
Penang Island, or 'The Pearl of The Orient' is situated on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia on the Straits of Malacca.
It was once a thriving free port, together with Malacca and Singapore, the 3 of them are then known as the 'Straits' Settlement' by the british. Now it is theeducation, financial, entertainment hub of the northern region of Malaysia
Penang is very popular among the local as well as the foreign tourist. It has the most pre-war houses/building in the region and is currently on the way of being listed in the UNESCO's World Herritage Site.
With its delicious hawker food, magnificent old-charm, wonderful buildings, deep culture, no wonder it never fails to capture me everytime i am there.....for the past 24 years!
There are 3 ways of reaching Penang Island, one is by air, the other by land (it is connected to the mainland via a 13.5km long bridge)......and the last option is by ferry.
